Last week, Congressman Tom McClintock (R-Rocklin) gave a riveting speech to the attendees at the Western Conservative Political Action Conference in Newport Beach. It wasn't a a feel-good, congratulatory speech, but instead one that admonished fellow Republican congressional members who squandered opportunity when the party was in power during the Younger Bush's administration. (McClintock had nothing to do with this, as he was serving in California's state legislature during the spending spree days of the 108th and 109th Congresses).
