For Sierra College students, governor's signature makes transer to CSU smoother

We agree with the Contra Costa Times editorial that praised Governor Schwarzenegger for signing a bill that streamlines the transfer process for students looking to move from a California Community College to a CSU.

For the 17,000 students at Rocklin's Sierra College (and its satellite campuses), the bill means they'll save time and money (including taxpayers' money) on their educations, which enables them to jump-start their careers and move on with their lives a little faster.

Sierra College is already ranked first in Northern California in transfers to the University of California and California State University systems. The governor's signing of Senate Bill 1440 by Senator Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima) gives them one more tool for success.
