Giddy up! Senator Gaines authors 'The National Day of the Cowboy and Cowgirl' resolution

Hey, good news: It turns out some Republican legislation is passing muster with the Democratic-majority Legislature after all.

Just today Sen. Ted Gaines' Resolution 70 (not to be confused with the Beatles's Revolution Number 9) was chaptered by the Secretary of State.

The resolution honors cowboys and cowgirls. It reads:
"This measure would recognize and designate the 4th Saturday of every July, in perpetuity, as the National Day of the Cowboy and Cowgirl, and would encourage the people of the State of California to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities."
Read the whereas and the what-for's right here.
