Steve Miller came to Thunder Valley Friday night to party. Not only did he tell the packed outdoor amphitheater that, he made it clear right out of the gate by belting out hit after classic hit.
At the start of the show, fans jumped out of their seats on the relatively cool evening to dance to "Jungle Love." The audience didn't seem fazed that the artist was more than 45 minutes late onto the simple stage.
A few songs into the set after the staple "Take the Money and Run," Miller introduced a guest fiddliest from San Francisco and they jammed "Abracadabra" for a good 15 minutes.
Miller's stop in Lincoln was a break from the big-arena shows he's been playing on the band's 2012 world tour. Tonight he'll be at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View before heading to Wisconsin.
