Placer County's 55 tons of rot

Placer County is in the "rotten" business of composting -- and at the tune of 55,000 tons of green waste a year! 

Now that's a compost pile. 

Western Placer Waste Management Authority's collects waste from homes and businesses in western Placer County and turns garden clippings and food scraps into organically certified compost available for sale to local golf courses, wineries, farms, nurseries—and to consumers.
