(anti) Banned Book Week event in Auburn

In opposition to banning books, the Placer County Sparks Law Library will hold a program Sept. 30 called "An Obscene Evening in the Library: Obscenity Law and Literature."

In collaboration with the The El Dorado County law library, the program will explore "the origins of obscenity laws in the United States and trace (their) impact on literary expression and libraries," according to a press release.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Sparks Law Library of Placer County, 1523 Lincoln Way, Auburn; (530) 621-6423, edlawlibrary@gmail.com.
