Placer County Supes to vote on budget at Tuesday's meeting
The Placer County Board of Supervisors will vote to pass the 2012-13 budget at Tuesday's meeting. The proposed budget is $690.1 million -- a $60 million drop from the current year budget.
The county budget has been on a decline for half a decade, a reflection of the poor economy. Board members have been forced to take a variety of measures such as placing a freeze on hiring, renegotiating public contracts and reducing the operational expenses of most county departments.
