Logue Opposes Dangerous Illegal Immigration Bill

Assemblyman Dan Logue, who represents Colfax and North Auburn, responded to the passage of a bill that would force local law enforcement to ignore federal law and release an illegal immigrant that has been arrested under suspicion of committing a crime.
Assembly Bill 1081 passed the full Assembly with Logue and fellow Republicans opposing the bill.
"The security of our borders is at stake and this bill takes us down a dangerous road," Logue said.

Dan Logue: Just say no to High Speed Rail

Assemblyman Dan Logue urged voters to speak out against the Legislature’s attempt to authorize the start of the High Speed Rail Project. The majority Democrats passed SB 1029 through the Assembly today to authorize the High Speed Rail Authority to begin construction.

“Right after they cut funding to schools and made dangerous changes to the state’s healthcare system by forcing children into the Medi-Cal program, the majority party wants to write a check for $8 billion to build a high speed rail to nowhere,” said Logue. “This will only force more cuts to important programs next year.”

Logue considers ballot measure to overturn Obama Care implementation in CA

Assemblyman Dan Logue responded to today’s ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court upholding the constitutionality of the federal Affordable Care Act (aka "Obamacare") by announcing that he is considering authoring a ballot measure to stop its implementation in California.

Assemblyman Logue authored Proposition 23 in 2010 to suspend the implementation of the California Air Resources Board’s dangerous AB 32 program.

Logue loathes Democrat spending plan

The California Legislative Democrats passed a budget yesterday and minority Republicans, whose votes don't matter since Prop 25 passed in 2010, are fuming.

Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-Marysville) had this to say in a press release:
“Our budget process should not be carried out behind closed doors through back room deals."
“This budget takes us in exactly the wrong direction and relies on passage of a job-killing $8.5 billion tax increase that does nothing to balance the budget.
"Instead, the majority party has chosen, yet again, to increase government spending at the very time hard working Californians are struggling just to get by.”

Dan Logue: "Are We Cutting $8 Billion in Spending?"

This is from Republican Assemblyman Dan Logue, who represents North Auburn and Colfax:

[Today] is the constitutional deadline to adopt the 2012-13 budget. Democratic leaders have declared they will meet the deadline. As the budget moved through the process, Democrats argued that their majority vote budget is balanced with $8.6 billion in tax increases and $8 billion in cuts.

Gaines, Pan and Logue face 'Do or Die' week at the Capitol

The busy season has officially arrived at the State Capitol. Friday is the deadline for the California Legislature to pass measures out of their house of origin. Oh, and there's that pesky budget bill that is due to be passed -- per the state constitution -- by June 30.

That means legislators are buried in bills and scrambling to "git 'er done."

Many bills will hit the end of the line this week, particularly those that spark controversy, the too-expensive ones, or those that failed to gain support from a majority of legislators.

Assemblyman Logue hopes to save state parks

Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-Marysville) is holding a press conference today at the state capitol to announce a bill, known as California Park Stewardship Act of 2012, that would help save California’s state parks.

Logue, who represents North Auburn and Colfax, said in a press release:
“I am proud to fight to keep state parks like Bidwell Mansion open for the public to enjoy.
“These parks are a part of California's rich history, and serve to remind us of the beauty of God’s creation and of our state’s great accomplishments. We cannot allow them to be lost.”
Assembly Bill 1589 would require the Parks Department to work on finding an alternative before closing a park, and disclose to the public its reasoning to close down a certain park.

Beth Gaines co-authors legislation to create Reagan memorial

Republican Assembly members hope to see a Ronald Reagan memorial constructed in the Capitol in the coming year as AB 2358 makes its way through the legislative process.

So far, the bill -- AB 2358 -- is moving along nicely, having passed the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife committee Tuesday on a 8-0 vote.

Specifically, the bill would authorize the Ronald Reagan Centennial Capitol Foundation to plan and construct a memorial to California's 33rd governor and America's 40th president in the State Capitol Building Annex. The memorial will be funded through private donations.
