Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament set for June 17 at Whitney Oaks



The eighth annual Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Monday June 17, at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin.

Cost is $145 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, barbecue lunch, and awards dinner that features a raffle, silent auction and auctioneer. Dinner only is available for $35 per person.

Registration begins at 10 a.m., and lunch is served from 10:30-11:45 a.m. The shotgun start begins at noon. The sit-down dinner features steak and fish, au gratin potatoes, vegetable and cheesecake. The meal will be prepared by Chef Marten, who formerly worked at Carver's Restaurant in Roseville.

A popular Rocklin Police Officer, Matt Redding tragically died while on duty in October 2005 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that was driven by an intoxicated driver.

All proceeds go to the nonprofit Matt Redding Foundation, which supports education in Protective Services and provides financial support each year to graduating seniors at seven local high schools Del Oro, Whitney, Rocklin, Victory Christian, Roseville, Oakmont and Woodcreek. It also provides scholarships to Sierra College and William Jessup University each year.
